At SEN-Explorers, we’re passionate about helping young people and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN) discover their potential — and that includes the world of work.

Our Work Experience Programme is currently in development, and we’re excited to be building meaningful, inclusive opportunities that allow individuals to explore different work settings, gain confidence, and develop practical skills at their own pace.

We’re in the process of creating tailored, supportive placements with local businesses, organisations, and community partners. Our aim is to offer safe, hands-on experiences in areas such as:

• Retail and hospitality

• Food preparation
   
• Gardening and outdoor maintenance
   
• Animal care
   
• Office-based tasks
   
• Community volunteering
   

Each experience will be fully supported by our trained team and adapted to suit individual needs, abilities, and interests.

This programme will be ideal for:

• Individuals aged 14+ with Special Educational Needs
   
• Those looking to build real-life skills in a supported setting
   
• Young people who want to explore the world of work in a pressure-free way
   

We’re developing placements that suit a wide range of abilities, goals, and personalities — and we’re always open to ideas and input from families and professionals.

As we build our programme, we’re making sure each placement will be:

✅ Guided by experienced support staff
✅ Flexible and person-centred
✅ Focused on building confidence and routine

Whether it’s a one-off taster session or a longer-term placement, our aim is to make work experience enjoyable, empowering, and tailored to each individual.
